When I was young, I looked at Nicol Lake from the top of Fisher Peak. This is an amazing area: blankets of moss and lichens, grey, white, orange-yellow rocks, shooting star flowers and weathered Alpine Fir. The lake is mesmerizing with its tones of cobalt blues. Painting this scene was very pleasing.
