A short ways down the trail to Island Lake, a view framed by the deep woods and Papa Bear Peak suddenly appears. This view always inspired me with the filtered light on the trail, a glimpse of Island Lake and the prominent Papa Bear Peak of the Lizard Range. In this painting, I wanted to create a feeling that adventure lies ahead.
