Hartley Lake Road is a few kilometres east of Fernie. At the summit is Hartley Lake, a small pond and the road continues into the Bull River drainage. This area is exceptional for fall colours created by aspen, birch, cottonwood, larch and shrubs. The area also has a diversity of wildlife including White-tailed deer seen here racing across the road.
